Antarctica.- In the photos taken on February 21, 2024, authorities are building their most modern facilities in Antarctica at the Petrel base. The National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA) announced that it will install a fourth photovoltaic system in Antarctica. The fourth installation will be in a shelter located on Isla Vega, which is used for glaciology studies and was inaugurated last year. On the continent, the facilities that were set up at the Carlini and Marambio bases and at the Elefante refuge are already in operation and they plan to add more.

Antarctica.- In the photos taken on February 8, 2024, it shows the solar panels installed in the Antarctic bases to reduce diesel consumption. Argentina is advancing in the installation of photovoltaic systems in its bases and shelters in Antarctica, to reduce the use of fossil fuels in the generation of energy for the operation of these facilities, seeking to reduce its environmental impact and logistical cost.

Antarctica.- In the photos taken on February 7, 2024, a team of technicians from the National Geographic Institute traveled to Antarctica this summer equipped with an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) capable of carrying out aerial photogrammetric surveys to begin a cartographic update project of the Argentine bases on the white continent, which will allow us to deepen scientific knowledge of those territories and consolidate the sovereign presence in that territory.

Antarctica.- In photos taken on February 6, 2024, a Bulgarian expedition found remains of an Argentine plane crashed 48 years ago in Antarctica. The Neptune 2P-103 plane of the Argentine Navy spent 48 years lost in a glacier on Livingston Island, near Antarctica. On September 15, 1976, he was on a reconnaissance flight when he crashed into a frozen mountain. Now, the glacier that had swallowed it returned some parts of the ship that were scattered on the rocky beach facing the sea.
