New seismographic station installed in Argentina’s Petrel Antarctic base
Antarctica.- In the photo taken on January 8, 2024, two seismology experts from the Italian Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics of Trieste (OGS), in cooperation with the Argentine Antarctic Institute (IAA), arrived in Antarctica on Saturday as part of the scientific crew of the vessel ARA Almirante Irízar to build a new station of the Argentine-Italian seismographic network.

Antarctica.- In the photo taken on January 8, 2024, Milton Plasencia Linares (left), graduated in Geophysics from the National University of La Plata (UNLP) and holds a PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Trieste, where he lives and works for the OGS. They install a new seismographic station at the Argentine Antarctic base Petrel.
