Lima, Peru.- A new anniversary of the arrest of Abimael Guzmán, leader of the Peruvian guerrilla organization Sendero Luminoso, is celebrated in a house in Surquillo, Peru, on September 12, 1992
It was the night of September 12, 1992, where the Special Intelligence Group (GEIN), created within the Directorate Against Terrorism of the National Police (Dincote), led by General Ketín Vidal, found the whereabouts of the guerrilla Shining Path of Marxist, Leninist and Maoist ideological tendency originated in Peru, characterized by its terrorist actions during the 1980s.
