Buenos Aires.- In the photo taken on January 9, 2024, stockings res in a butcher shop in Buenos Aires. The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries set quotas for meat to countries of Corporación Andina and Mercosur. It did so through Resolution 8/2024. On 18 October 2004, an Economic Complementarity Agreement was signed between Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, the member states of Mercosur. Meanwhile, the Andean Community consists of Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. The agreement establishes a Free Trade Area through a trade liberalisation programme applicable to products originating in the signatory States, including chilled and frozen vaccine meat, chocolates and sweets, and dairy products. In this sense, the resolution provides for 906,989 tons to be distributed. At the same time, it is established that the remaining 3,787 tons will form the Free Availability Fund. The quantity to be exported expressed in Article 1 of this resolution must enter Colombia until December 31, 2024.
